The gorgeous Cast Iron legs came out of the United Shoe factory in Beverly Ma. The top is Reclaimed
Heart Pine spline groove decking which is 2.25' thick, 63" L x 40" W x 36"H. The pine came out of Tobacco drying barns in Kentucky. The spline groove is similar to tongue and groove flooring except both pieces have a groove and a 3rd pieces of wood is used to join the 2 pieces together. We accentuate this joint by using reclaimed oak for the splines.
The legs have new paint on them because they were left outside for far to long and seemed like a tetanus shot waiting to happen. We finished them with a rustoleum hammered silver finish. The feet are made of distressed oak and painted with a distressed Annie Sloan chalk paint finish. This island also has a large pull out drawer using antique cast iron drawer slides
